Why this is recurring: annual affirmation is a legal obligation (32 CFR 170.15, 170.22), so the proof expires on a clock you do not control. Standing is lapse-protection, not storage. Your documents are yours forever; lapsing only stops the maintenance, it never removes them.

What happens if you stop paying the standing fee

  • Your verification pages state the fact that the record has not been maintained since the lapse date.

Customers who purchased the DefendR Bundle before July 2026 already have their second year of standing included. For those customers the standing fee begins in year three, and nothing changes before then.
